Registration tables will be set up behind the Nature Center which is located just inside the park entrance and we will be set up for registration by 6:15am. Once registered, please park your vehicles in the first and second parking/picnic areas in the beginning of the one-way loop around the park (close to the Nature Center).
Race Date: October 6th, 2018, 8am Start
This race is host at one of Atlantic County’s most scenic parks. The run traverses a paved road that is the interior loop of the park. The bike, once you leave the park, has only four turns on roads that are well paved and less travelled. We hope you enjoy racing in the park. Please visit http://atlantic-county.org/parks/estell-manor-park.aspto get additional details about the trails, picnic areas, fitness trails, playgrounds, and all the park has to offer.
Race Course Information
This race was created 20 years ago and ran for 10 consecutive years. It was started as part of the grass roots multi discipline sport program and we have decided to bring it back as that same non-commercialized event that focuses on the race and the great workout. There are very few stand-alone Duathlons around. Why share the race course with Triathletes? Give this race a ‘go’. Take advantage of the low prices, cool race weather and non congested roadways.
Also noteworthy, over the years, we have seen a small decline in Duathlon numbers at the races. There are very few standalone Duathlon races around and many have been incorporated into local triathlon races. One reason maybe the rising cost of producing races. I entered my first triathlon in college because I could afford (kinda) the $40 registration fee. Many students, the future of the sport, cannot afford the prices to race Tri’s and Du’s now-a-days, which is why we lowered the price for students on this event to $40. The other races on this site will also follow suit next year, making it more affordable for the younger generation to carry the torch of the sport. We hope the younger generation will take advantage of this and help grow the sport into the future.
Pre-Registered racers will receive a race T-shirt, finisher medal and small pumpkin. We will naturally have water and gatoraide at the finish, as well as fruit, bagels and other post race food. this year’s race benefits the Oakcrest High School (Mays Landing) Crew Team.
The looped course traverses one of the most scenic parks in South Jersey. It is not likely to see any vehicles on this loop during the race. If you do, please share the park with the other patrons. The roads are completely paved and completely shaded from the sun. This is a great (and fast) run loop.
The bike loop, after exiting the park entrance/exit, has only four turns on the bike. These roads are not highly travelled by motor vehicles but are well paved and flat. This is a great time trial course on the bike. The roads are not closed to traffic, so please be careful and mindful of the other vehicles on the road.
